Why I Am Not Losing Weight – Simple Question

Losing weight is a journey, a determination, a goal and most probably, it can be your need. In this era of the 21st century when you can approach everything by just clicking a single button on your phone without any physical effort, and in a society that has high standards regarding your physique, and mental and physical health, Losing Weight is essential for both your health as well as your appearance. Why I am not losing weight is a simple question and the answer might be a little harder for us. Let’s discuss my point of view and let us hear yours as well.

Then the question arises:

WHY I AM NOT LOSING WEIGHT?

WHY ARE YOU NOT LOSING WEIGHT?

The answer to this is that maybe you are not going in the right direction and the right path.

Here are some reasons from which you came to know why you are not losing weight.

While losing weight things have the primary importance:

  • Your Medical Condition 
  • Your Diet
  • Your Physical Activity 

Distorted routine

While losing fat or trimming down yourself, the first and foremost thing that should keep in mind is that you don’t have to splash things on yourself like,

      You’re doing exercise, you are not following your diet, eating unhealthy and junk foods, then again you are doing exercise, it will not help you at all as this routine is not in order. While losing weight you should follow a schedule or a routine.

Patience and Persistence In Losing Weight

You have to understand the journey of losing weight. Shedding pounds and trimming down your time is an important factor.

The journey of losing weight takes time as the fat in your body is surrounded by organs like:

  • Heart, Pancreas, Intestines and Muscles etc.

Moreover, fat that surrounds these organs can lead to serious issues like

  • Epicardial Fat
  • Affecting Nutrient Absorption and Digestive Function 
  • Intramuscular fat (Marbling) (Affecting Muscle function and Metabolism)

When you start burning your Fat, at first these fats that surround your organs will burn then the stage comes that you start seeing the changes in your body you will see,

Your body is now shaping itself, your belly gently begins to diminish, fats around your arms, legs and chin moulding itself, which was a testament to a graceful transformation within.

But, you have to be patient and consistent during this process as it takes time.

Important Factors Regarding Losing Weight

While shedding excess weight the first thing that  came into mind is which thing has primary importance,

You have to keep in mind, Your medical conditions with the spices of a healthy diet and a disciplined routine of exercise. 

If you are not losing weight then you should consult with your doctor, as genes also have effects on your body, you have to go through your dietary plan and your physical activity.

Some other factors that contribute as a hindrance in your journey of losing weight are as follows:

Lack of Sleep

In this modern era, the main reason for the lack of sleep is an unnecessary use of mobile phones, engaging with addictive content on mobile phones like social media, gaming, checking notifications again and again, heightened anxiety due to the exposure to news etc can be the cause that disrupts your sleep cycle.

When the sleep cycle is disrupted, hormones related to hunger and metabolism lead to weight gain.

Unbalanced Diet

I can’t stop eating chips!

Cold drinks are my life!

No one can exclude sweets from my life!

Sweets are the sweetie of my life!

Wait Wait, Think Again, All this unbalanced diet will be the cause that you are not losing weight. 

While getting lean you have to stiffen yourself and restrict yourself not to eat all these types of junk foods.

Try some special dishes

Instead of eating junk food from outside you can replace it with your delicious homemade recipes. 

For Instance, If you want French Fries, bake it at home, it will most probably be that replacing your favourite dishes with new home dishes like fruit salad, low-fat foods, and some salt and pepper flavoured veggies, these goods will not be the cause of gaining weight. It will not impede your weight loss journey. 

Stress

Stress can be the main reason that you are not losing weight. The question arises: What is the relation between stress and weight loss?

Actually, when you are stressed, your anxiety level increases and most people find catharsis by eating more food. We can say that it’s emotional eating, where individuals seek comfort in high-calorie, unhealthy food as a coping mechanism that will relieve them. And then due to this overeating and consuming more calories than you can burn can hinder weight loss.

Moreover, stress triggers the release of cortisol, a hormone that can promote fat storage, particularly around the abdomen, and increase appetite, leading to overeating and weight gain.

So,

Be Attentive! Avoid Stress! Avoid the method of catharsis by overeating!

Lack of Physical Activity 

If you are following a healthy dietary plan and also keep your medical conditions in mind but your physical activities are low, for instance sitting on a sofa for 3 to 4 hours while using a mobile phone, lessen walking and not sufficient and consistent exercise can probably be the cause of weight gain. It is most likely that due to less physical activity the fat in your body will deposit in areas like around the intestine that cause belly fat or around your muscles causing muscular fat.

Medical Conditions

Certain medical conditions like hypothyroidism can make weight loss more challenging 

Factors like,

  • Hormonal Fluctuations

Also causes temporary water weight gain. 

So, during weight loss, if you find out that your weight is not shedding down then it can be your genes or medical conditions.

During growth your body undergoes different changes, sometimes weight loss plateaus occur, where the body adjusts to new habits, which can also be an obstacle in your weight loss journey.

Miscalculating Meal Sizes 

Sometimes healthy food also contributes to weight gain if the portions are too large.

What will happen?

Your body consumes calories, proteins and nutrients according to its needs and the extra ones are deposited in the form of fat.

That’s why it’s important to take an estimate of food volumes

Stay Motivated or Disciplined 

There’s a bit of a difference between motivation and discipline. When you are motivated, your stamina boosts up so high and then spontaneously it drops down and then your motivation flies. But if you are disciplined, no matter if you are slow, steadiness helps you to fulfil your aim.
