Friendships that Uplift: Finding Your Supportive Tribe

Friendships that provide and uplift your buddies

Are you someone who’s had a brawl recently with one of your best friends, and now you want to read something to support your argument? Well, that can’t be guaranteed for sure, but we’ll cover friendships that uplift: Finding your supportive tribe. Stick around to find out.

Friendships usually are related to certain emotional connections that we tend to form with the people we understand. Let’s dive deep and find out how all of this is related to uplifting your peers. Have you ever had an encounter where you felt the need to specify your friendships?

Who is a friend?

Sounds like a simple question, but it has some deep roots attached to it. The simplest of single-liner answers to this is: Friends are people you actually love spending time with. They make you feel comfortable and tend to provide you a safe spot to vent out everything you feel.

“A friend is someone who knows all about you but still likes you.” -Elbert Hubbard

Now that we have identified the true meaning of friendships to an extent, let’s move on to discuss further details and work our way precisely.

Their needs and my needs

Friendships, usually, are two-way, just like the 4 wheels on a car. (This doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve got to have 4 friends). Imagine it as a clap. No, not that one, the other one.

The world would be a better place if people started to look out for the needs of the people linked to them. You get what you give out; it is a prime example of that.

You certainly need trust, compassion, empathy, and all other fancy words like these from your friend. Need simpler words? You have to be a good one in order to get a good one.

Be available for them; respect their values and comfort. Offer emotional support and make sure you give them enough room for them to express themselves. Send out good wishes and receive good wishes in return. It’s the only way for it to work.

How can my buddy lift me up?

After covering the basics, we will take a look at the main concern and the primary reason for you to come here. How will I benefit from good friends?

There are a million arguments in favour of this, making it easier to present, but we love making things difficult for ourselves, don’t we? Here are a few unique reasons that will solidify your belief in good friendships.

Painting the black spots:

A good friend will be as good as Picasso, if not better, in painting the dark spots left in your character and habits. Those spots are a natural part of being a human. Great friends cover them up and make you feel like you are in control of your life and decisions and give you confidence to make even better decisions.

Filling the canvas up with colours:

Good friends help you shape up your future and goals. True uplifting lies in helping each other gain clarity of the future goals and aspirations. They will make your life colourful and vibrant with their presence and be a source of unending motivation and boost.

Emotional support:

Emotions play a key role in shaping our connections and relations. A true friend will make sure you feel heard and your words carry value. A good example of the safe spot we talked about earlier.

Happiness:

Good friends make you happy; that’s the most simple yet potent way to look at it. Happiness has become increasingly rare these days, and if someone makes you happy, hold on to them and navigate to further set a good foundation of an everlasting friendship.

Encouragement:

Friends should be a good source of support and encouragement in times of need. This will help you to recalibrate and refocus when you find it tough to keep going. Friends usually have a good sense of understanding, and you will feel encouraged throughout the process.

Toxicity:

In the midst of mentioning the bright spots, there’s a dire need to look into the shadows too. Some things can take a turn to the wrong side and appear normal to the very last extent. Friendships need boundaries, and your friends should be understanding enough to help you establish them. There are no 2 ways to look at it.

A Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog:

This saying has followed us throughout our childhood; let’s give it a new meaning. Laziness and tranquillity are different things; your friendships should not make you lazy but rather help you get things done at a brisk pace. The other side of the coin might not be as attractive, but it sure plays an important part in determining the value of it.

Conclusion

Friends are usually considered as people you get along with better than others. They uplift, nourish, and encourage you to be the better version of yourselves. Invest in good friendships; enable each other to perform at your utmost best.

Friends are a comfort in times of darkness and hurt. They can make or break you as a whole. If you ponder upon it, it’s a big deal in terms of control over a person’s future. It’s positive or negative depending on the way you look at it.
